Boston was founded by English settlers in the 17th century and was the scene of the famous tea party which was the starting point of the War of Independence. You can learn all about Bostons chequered past by walking the Freedom Trail – a 2.5 mile marked walk which takes you past the most historic buildings in the city.

As well as the historic interest Boston is a city where you can shop till you drop in Quincy market, Newbury Street and Downtown Crossing. Eat Clam Chowder, have a drink in the ‘Cheers’ bar or one of the many other that Boston has to offer. Boston is also home to Harvard the world renowned university and USS Constitution, the US navy’s oldest commissioned ship.

We recommend that you take in all Boston has to offer before picking up your motorhome as the traffic and parking in Boston is dreadful, and the city is best seen on foot. Once you have your motorhome Cape Cod and Salem are both within easy reach, and the whole of the New England district is yours to explore.
